The first is the Sunshine Mix & Match, a mid-level competition for people who are not professional dancers. Entry includes an opportunity for feedback and workshopping directly with the judges the day after the comp.

• You will enter as an individual (either lead or follow), and dance with 3 (randomly selected) people in the prelims to 3 different songs.

• Judges’ rubric (see below) has 4 evenly-weighted categories: musicality, connection & listening, quality of movement, and performance & showmanship, as well as a binary “fusion” checkbox (no winning with just WCS).

• If you make it to finals, you will be randomly paired with another finalist and judged as a couple.

• The entry fee is $5, and the winner takes the pot – which means the more people sign up, the bigger the pot is.

The second is the Veteran Mix & Match, for those who have been dancing fusion for 7+ years and/or are professional dancers in some capacity. 

• You will enter as an individual (either lead or follow), and dance with 5 (randomly selected) people in the prelims.

• Prelims are self-judged by a ranked scorecard of 1-5 (favorite to least-favourite dance).

• If you make it to finals, you will be randomly paired with another finalist and judged as a couple.

• Only four couples will make it to finals, which will be live audience judged using a decibel meter in a battle format.

• The entry fee is $10, and the winner takes the pot – which means the more people sign up, the bigger the pot is.
